‘Continuing the conversation’: Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole to return to West Seattle next week

Just announced by the organizers of last month’s disruption-shortened West Seattle community conversation with Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole (WSB coverage here, with video): She’ll be back to “continue the conversation” next Wednesday (March 11th). When we spoke with Chief O’Toole right after her February 3rd visit, she promised to return for a second try at West Seattle Q/A, and that’s what this is intended to be. The meeting is set for 6:30-8:30 pm at the Senior Center of West Seattle in The Junction (California/Oregon), co-sponsored again by the West Seattle Block Watch Captains Network and Southwest Precinct Advisory Council (flyer here).

That’s awesome, I’m grateful she’s coming back so soon. Hopefully there are some ground rules this time – so that Chief O’Toole, and the rest of us, aren’t shouted down.

Hopefully the protestors respect the rest of the community’s right to engage with our elected/appointed officials.
They had their opportunity to protest last time; let other voices be heard this time.

agree with above comments; it was tremendously disappointing to have our long awaited meeting with the Chief cut short last month; hope they have planned protocols to remove any disruptive protesters this time

I couldn’t agree more with these comments. I plan on attending and hopefully rude, inappropriate and ineffective protesters will not attend.

    I intend to be there.
I also intend to treat our guest to our community with respect, dignity, and allow her to speak and respond to questions asked of her. I will not tolerate anyone being rude disrespectful or disruptive toward our city’s ploice chief. This is OUR meeting not an individual’s. I sincerely hope ALL of those who attend have the same intension.

Sorry, comment time is over.
